About me
I'm a small-town girl that was raised on a farm around Galatia, KS. Even as a child, I always knew I would pursue a creative career where I am able to serve others. Currently, I'm a senior at Washburn University and I'm pursuing a degree in Public Relations while minoring in Business. In high school, we had a class where we did various creative jobs for the community. Back then, I gained experience in designing children's books, creating flyers and invitations, and designing wedding programs. I even had the opportunity of creating a logo for our local hospital. During the summer, I interned at the Hays Area Children's Center. I gained hands-on experience and learned how a non-profit organization functions. At Washburn I have had the opportunity to work on promotional campaigns with United Way and the Jayhawk Theatre as well as planning events such as the 2014 Mass Media Banquet and a 2016 Media Day. This semester, I am working with fellow students to produce KSWU News (Washburn's news show) and design and write the 2015 Mass Media Messenger (a publication for alumni). I look forward to hearing feedback on my work and I'm excited to graduate and begin a career.
